New to tennis
Tennis lessons for beginners in Central Texas
Start with the fundamentals, done properly, from your first hour.

Nearly every beginner arrives worried they will be the least coordinated person who has ever stepped on a court. They never are. We start with three things — how to hold the racquet, where the ball should meet it, and how to move your feet so you arrive on time — and those three things are enough to start rallying in your very first hour.
Tell me you are new when you send your request and I will plan the hour accordingly. There is no pressure, no drill you will fall behind in, and no assumption that you should already know the basics. If you do not own a racquet, I will bring one so you can find out whether you enjoy tennis before spending anything.
If you are new, we work on grip, stance, contact point, and simple movement. The goal for your first few lessons is straightforward: rally comfortably, serve to start a point, and enjoy being on the court.
What you’ll walk away with
- A comfortable grip and a repeatable swing shape
- Consistent contact on forehands and backhands
- A simple serve that reliably starts a point
- Enough rallying to play a friendly game
Best suited to
- Complete beginners
- Anyone who has never taken a lesson
- Players who learned casually and want proper technique
One service, one price
There's no separate package for this — it's a normal tennis lesson with me. Rates depend on the length of the lesson, whether it's one-on-one or semi-private, and the court we use, and I confirm the exact price before anything is scheduled.
I'll send you the lesson location when I confirm your request.
